I have been bustin my butt getting Utah hats done for this fall!  I had a connection to a person who had a craft booth at the Rice Eccles Stadium, but the connection fell through.  Thank goodness I did not make as many hats as I originally wanted to.  I thought that they would be able to sell at least (or around) 20 hats a game.  That would have been around 120 hats, WOW, could you imagine?  But with a new baby it was kind of hard to dedicate time to sit down and make hats.  So that being said...Here is the pile of 14 hats I have made.  I have made several more but they have sold before I could get them to the box!  But 14 is a good start!
I found this delightful pink hat at the bottom of my box.  I totally forgot that I had made this one, but super fun, cute and "girly"!

High School

My son Warren has decided he likes to play football!  I thought it would be cool to have a hat with his High School Letters and his Jersey Number on it!
This is the back!
I am not partial to doing only Kearns High School!  I could do any High School, and Jersey number!  These could also be done without a Jersey number!

For all my artistic/crafty friends, I need a logo for my "Boddyl Caps".  I have several ideas but can not put them on paper.  Anyone that can draw me a cool logo/banner will WIN a custom hat of there choice!  So put your thinking caps on and spread the word!

Slacker

I have been such a slacker! I have several things to post about but been a little too busy to do it!  I thought I would start with somthing I made last year for the Baby to go home from the hospital in, but she was way to small to fit it.  Eventually she grew into this little hat, and I think she looks so cute in it!
She got a little tired of us ooohing and cooing over her!  This Picture was taken during Christmas!

Work, work, work!

So I was invited to join a Boutique trade group!  The way it works is you & others put in your items that you make/sell ($150 worth of product). It all goes into a database, and then the administrator draws names out of a hat and you get to go shopping in the number order that your name was drawn.  Well I put in some of my hats, well I just needed pictures to get into the group.  So now I have put my jazz hat aside, and have been working real hard to get 6 of my hats done to have them ready for the actual trade night!  I still have one more to go, but trade night is not til April 15th, so I think I can manage to get it done by then.  These are the hats I put into the pot, 2 of each! (I also put in $30 of Scentsy bars to equal $150)  So far I think doing this trade thing has been worth it.  I will post everything I acquired when it is in my hands!

Currently working on a Jazz hat, perfect timing!

So, some one asked me if I could do a Jazz hat just before Christmas.  I finally decided to start working on it about a week ago.  I did a simple one, with green, blue and yellow and it says "Utah Jazz"!  Not really impressed with it.

So, I came up with a pattern for the Jazz Logo, I am about half way done with it and I really like the way it is turning out.  My only complaint is...4 colors, my yarn is all sorts of twisted and tangled.  I have to drop and pick up colors like crazy!  I have decided if the hat has more then 2 colors, that I will have to charge more, way more work then I want to deal with!
I finished the JAZZ hat.  It was a pain in the butt, but it looks real nice.  I sold it for $30.  My Jazz hat that has just the "J" is much easier to make and I sell that one for a bit less ($25.00)!

The beginning

So I have decided to start a blog about my Hat Making!  I love to make these hats and come up with new deisgns to crochet in my hats!  Any suggestions or cool ideas are always welcome!  I have never blogged before or really followed anyone elses blog.  So forgive me for being a beginner, I am sure I will get the hang of this pretty quickly!  Have a great day, Anna Newsom
